iPhone Duo screenshots

What size are iPhone Duo screenshots?

1398 × 2034 pixels for the outer display and 2007 × 2853 pixels for the inner display, or 2034 × 1398 and 2853 × 2007 in landscape. PNG or JPEG, no transparency. Source: Apple — Screenshot specifications. Full table: iPhone Duo screenshot sizes.

Are iPhone Duo screenshots required?

Starting April 2027, they're required for apps built with the iOS 27.1 SDK or later. Until then they're optional. Source: Apple Developer News, October 5, 2026.

What do I get for adding them now?

Your App Store product page shows a badge that says your app is optimized for iPhone Duo. Source: Screenshot specifications.

Should the inner screenshot be 2853 × 2007 or 2007 × 2853?

App Store Connect accepts both. The simulator's native inner capture can be exactly 2007 × 2853 or 2853 × 2007. Keep the native PNG: don't rotate or resize it to force the other dimensions. Check that the interface itself is upright and correctly laid out; dimensions alone don't prove that. Our service doesn't offer a choice or guarantee of inner orientation, and it may vary between screenshots. Source: Screenshot specifications.

How many screenshots can I upload?

Up to 10 per device size. Source: Screenshot specifications.

Can I use mockups?

Frames and captions are allowed (Guideline 2.3.3). The screen inside must be your real app. A mockup of a layout your app doesn't have breaks Guideline 2.3.

How do I take iPhone Duo screenshots myself?

Run the app in the iPhone Duo simulator from Xcode 27.1. Fold it with the hinge CLI and capture --display=1, then unfold it and capture --display=3. Step by step: How to make App Store screenshots for iPhone Duo.

Why is my inner display screenshot black?

The inner display is off while the simulator is folded, or you captured the default display. Unfold first, wait a moment, and pass --display=3. More: simulator screenshots from the command line.

Do I need a real iPhone Duo?

No. The iPhone Duo simulator in Xcode 27.1 produces screenshots at the App Store Connect sizes.

Duo Screenshots

What is Duo Screenshots?

A service that captures App Store screenshots from your simulator build. A Full set covers iPhone 6.3", iPhone Duo (both displays), and iPad 13" if your build supports iPad. A Duo set covers only iPhone Duo. You download the PNGs and upload them to App Store Connect yourself; frames, captions and design work aren't included.

What sizes and how many files do I get?

SetSizes we captureMaximum per language
Full setiPhone 6.3" — 1206 × 2622 px portrait; iPhone Duo outer — 1398 × 2034 px portrait; inner — native 2007 × 2853 or 2853 × 2007 px; iPad 13" — 2064 × 2752 px portrait, if your build supports iPad6 screens × 4 sizes = 24 PNGs
Full set, iPhone-only appThe same three iPhone sizes, without iPad6 screens × 3 sizes = 18 PNGs, at the same price
Duo setOuter and inner display only, at the sizes above6 screens × 2 displays = 12 PNGs
Free iPhone Duo checkLayout report onlyNo screenshots; one per account

Each paid set includes one language and a layout report for every size we shoot. Your app must already support the languages you order; translation isn't included. These are the required sizes for the devices your app supports, not every optional App Store Connect size: a separate 6.9" set isn't included. See Apple's screenshot specifications.

Do I upload both iPhone Duo sets?

App Store Connect takes one iPhone Duo set per language. Upload the inner set by default, or choose outer if your app is mainly used folded. We give you both so you can choose; the other set can also be used on your website or in ads. We haven't verified mixing outer and inner screenshots in one set and don't recommend relying on it.

What do I need to send?

A simulator build: your .app in a zip, made on a Mac or macOS CI. A device build or .ipa won't work. The build must run on our simulators: iOS 27.1 for iPhone Duo and iOS 27.0 for iPhone/iPad. How to make it: simulator build. If your app has a login, add a demo account with sample data, never a real customer's account.

Do you need my source code?

No. Only the simulator build.

How long does it take?

Both paid sets arrive within 24 hours from payment, counted Monday–Friday, New York time. If we need something from you, such as a demo login or a build that launches, we email you and the clock pauses until you reply.

How long do you keep my build?

We delete your build, demo login and reference screenshots 7 days after the order is finished. Your screenshots stay available for download for 90 days, so download them before then.

What if App Review rejects my app because of your screenshots?

Email hello@weelco.app within 30 days with the rejection message and we refund the order in full. This isn't a promise of App Review approval. If we can't deliver an order, you get a full refund automatically.

Is Duo Screenshots made by Apple?

No. Duo Screenshots is an independent service by Weelco Inc. and is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Apple Inc.

Why not do it myself in Xcode or fastlane?

Can't I just take these screenshots in Xcode myself?

You can. A Full set means capturing the same screens and languages at three sizes for an iPhone-only app, or four if it also supports iPad, with a clean status bar. iPhone Duo needs captures of both displays. We handle the simulator setup and capture from one upload, within 24 hours on business days.

I already use fastlane snapshot. Why would I need you?

You may not. If your pipeline already produces every required size and language, keep using it. Order a Duo set if you only need Duo, or a Full set if you'd rather upload one simulator build than set up and maintain screenshot tests.

Can't I resize my iPhone screenshots for iPhone Duo?

Resizing doesn't show how your app actually lays out on iPhone Duo. Apple lists no automatic scaling from other iPhone sizes into the iPhone Duo slot. We capture both displays from your running app; upload one Duo set per language, inner by default. More: App Review and iPhone Duo screenshots.

Do I need a Mac or the latest Xcode to order?

Not to order or download screenshots. You do need a simulator build that runs on our simulators; a device build or .ipa won't work. Make the simulator build on a Mac or macOS CI, then upload the zip. We handle simulator setup and capture. See the simulator-build guide for build requirements.

Is a Full set worth it compared with doing it myself?

A Full set is $39 for one language, whether your app supports iPad or is iPhone-only. You pay for simulator setup and capture across the included sizes, not for frames or captions. A reshoot of the same screens after a new build is $9. If App Review rejects your app because of our screenshots, email us within 30 days and we refund the order.
