iPhone Duo screenshot sizes
Apple accepts iPhone Duo screenshots at 1398 × 2034 pixels for the outer display and 2007 × 2853 pixels for the inner display in portrait, with the corresponding landscape dimensions in the reference table below. These are accepted dimensions, not instructions to turn a captured PNG or a promise that our service delivers every orientation.

App Store Connect sizes
| Display | Portrait | Landscape | Format |
|---|---|---|---|
| Outer display | 1398 × 2034 px | 2034 × 1398 px | PNG or JPEG, no transparency |

Screenshot size is not the panel resolution
The inner screenshot size is larger than the physical inner panel. Don't size your screenshots from the hardware spec sheet.
| Hardware resolution | Screenshot size for App Store Connect | |
|---|---|---|
| Outer display, 5.4-inch, 460 ppi | 1398 × 2034 | 1398 × 2034 |
| Inner display, 7.6-inch, 430 ppi | 1878 × 2670 | 2007 × 2853 |

The iPhone Duo simulator in Xcode 27.1 captures both displays at App Store sizes, @3x. Our service keeps the native PNG without rotating or resizing it. The outer display is portrait; the unfolded inner display can have either of the two exact native dimensions:
| Simulator screen | Screen ID (--display) | Device name | Capture size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Outer | 1 | primary | 1398 × 2034 (portrait) |
| Inner | 3 | primary-1 | 2007 × 2853 or 2853 × 2007 (native) |
App Store Connect accepts both inner sizes. Keep the native capture; don't rotate or resize the PNG to force one orientation. Check the actual image for upright UI and correct layout: width and height alone don't establish visual quality. Our service doesn't offer a choice or guarantee of inner orientation, and it may vary between screenshots. This doesn't promise arbitrary dimensions or a second inner image per screen. The Apple reference table above includes outer landscape too; our service only delivers outer 1398 × 2034.
Run xcrun simctl io <device> enumerate to see the screens of your own simulator. See How to take iPhone Duo simulator screenshots.
When they are required
Starting April 2027, apps submitted to the App Store must include iPhone Duo screenshots. Apple ties this to apps built with the iOS 27.1 SDK or later. Apple has not published an exact day.
Until then they are optional. If you add them, your product page shows a badge that says your app is optimized for iPhone Duo.

Can I scale other iPhone screenshots into the iPhone Duo slot?
Apple lists no automatic scaling from other iPhone sizes into the iPhone Duo slot. For other iPhone sizes, the specification page says which size is scaled when a size is missing. For iPhone Duo it says nothing like that. Capture both displays, then upload one Duo set per language, inner by default or outer if your app is mainly used folded. We haven't verified mixing them in one set. The outer and inner displays also have different aspect ratios from every other iPhone, so stretched screenshots won't fit cleanly. See App Review and iPhone Duo screenshots.
Quick checklist
- Outer: exactly 1398 × 2034 (or 2034 × 1398).
- Inner: exactly 2007 × 2853 (or 2853 × 2007).
- PNG or JPEG, no alpha channel.
- Up to 10 per device size.
- Shows the app in use, not only a splash or login screen (Guideline 2.3.3).

For the required iPhone medium-display slot, we capture iPhone 6.3" at 1206 × 2622 px portrait. If your build supports iPad, we also capture iPad 13" at 2064 × 2752 px portrait. A Full set adds these to the two Duo displays: up to 6 screens per size, one language, up to 24 PNGs (18 for iPhone-only apps), $39 either way. It doesn't include every optional size, such as a separate 6.9" set. Source: Apple — Screenshot specifications.
No time to set this up? Duo Screenshots captures a Full set from your simulator build, or just the Duo displays from $19. No Mac needed to order or download; the simulator build still needs a Mac or macOS CI. Build requirements. Frames, captions and uploading to App Store Connect aren't included.
