iPhone Duo screenshot checker
Drop your App Store screenshots here to see whether they match Apple's iPhone Duo requirements: the exact pixel size for the outer and inner display, no alpha channel, PNG or JPEG, and no more than 10 per size. Your files are checked in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

What the checker looks at
- Pixel size. Apple accepts 1398 × 2034 or 2034 × 1398 for the outer display and 2007 × 2853 or 2853 × 2007 for the inner display. The checker also recognizes the iPhone 6.3″ and iPad 13″ sizes.
- Alpha channel. Apple's page says images can't include alpha channels or transparencies. PNG files saved by xcrun simctl have one unless you pass --mask=black (see the sizes guide).
- Format. PNG, JPG or JPEG.
- Count. Up to 10 screenshots per device size.
- Color space and file size are shown for information. Apple's specifications do not set a rule for either, so they never fail a file.
| Display | Accepted sizes (px) |
|---|---|
| iPhone Duo outer display | 1398 × 2034, 2034 × 1398 |
| iPhone Duo inner display | 2007 × 2853, 2853 × 2007 |
| iPhone medium display (Dynamic Island) | 1206 × 2622 (6.3″), 2622 × 1206, 1179 × 2556, 2556 × 1179 |
| iPad 13″ display | 2064 × 2752, 2752 × 2064, 2048 × 2732, 2732 × 2048 |

If a file fails
- Wrong size: capture the screen again at an accepted size. Don't scale or stretch it. The iPhone Duo simulator in Xcode 27.1 saves both displays at App Store sizes. See How to take iPhone Duo simulator screenshots.
- Alpha channel: flatten the image onto a solid background and export it again. Details and the sips command to check a file on a Mac: iPhone Duo screenshot sizes.
- Before you submit: App Review and iPhone Duo screenshots.

Questions
Do you upload my screenshots?
No. The checker reads your files in your browser and nothing is sent to our servers. You can check it in your browser's network tab.
What sizes does Apple accept for iPhone Duo?
1398 × 2034 or 2034 × 1398 pixels for the outer display, and 2007 × 2853 or 2853 × 2007 pixels for the inner display, as PNG or JPEG without an alpha channel. Source: Apple's Screenshot specifications.
Why does my file fail for alpha channel?
Apple's page says images can't include alpha channels or transparencies. A PNG has one if it stores transparency, even when nothing looks transparent. Flatten the image onto a solid background and export it again.
How many screenshots can I upload?
At least one and up to 10 per device size. The checker counts the files per size and flags the ones over 10.
Does a pass mean App Review will approve my screenshots?
No. It means the files match Apple's published size and format rules. App Review also judges the content: the screenshots must show your app in use (Guideline 2.3.3).
Why is my inner screenshot 1878 × 2670?
That is the hardware resolution of the inner panel. App Store Connect takes 2007 × 2853 or 2853 × 2007. The Xcode 27.1 simulator saves the inner display at the accepted size, so capture it again instead of scaling this one. Sizes: iPhone Duo screenshot sizes.
Does the checker look at color space or file size?
It shows them, but Apple's specifications set no rule for either, so they never fail a file. The one exception is a CMYK JPEG, which gets Check because screenshots are RGB images.
